DiamondFire (RP book) by: thecoolkid26 Notable: Birthplace of War RPs, prelude to Warlords Owner: Jeremaster Community Size: 100+ active players, although rarely on at once Established: Several years ago Table of Contents Background........................3 Early RPs.............................6 Chapter 1 - Background DiamondFire (DF) is a server made by Jeremaster some years back, simply as a personal project of his. Initially, DF was not what it was now, and instead contained some minigames. However, Jeremaster decided to take the server on a whole new course. He'd establish the creative plots system, but add coding to the mix, allowing players to code their own games within their plot, and the only boundary would be whatever code was made in the plugin. Over time, the server grew to its present state (12/12/19) with various features in coding and a sizeable community which made and played games of their own. Ranks were added in order to give other players the opportunity to have more than one plot, exclusive coding features, and more. Chapter 2 - Early RPs It would be in this scene, possibly up to 2 years ago (as of the time of this book's publishing) that RP games as we know them would be born, in this server. After Kcolyz introduced his idea to TheLoyalHorse, about a game that didn't need to be coded, and instead could be hosted by the plot's owner and manually played, he'd make the first ever RP, titled: RP Wars. After this plot died, SenorConejo, one of its players, made Kingdoms, and from there, RPs slowly grew until they reached their height at the Early Loria Boom, where the entire server was now aware of the genre's existence. Resistance to RPs, however meant that slowly, RP games would die out. However, a select few creators, many of which were crucial to the genre's expansion, moved to another server to keep their games alive. This server, Warlords, is where they remain as of this book's publishing. RPs slowly died out in DF, and unfortunately, after Kingdoms Season 2 ended, RPs would no longer be prominent on the server. Today, DF is now still alive, but RPs are gone in what Warlords players have called the Dark Age of DF RPs, or the Dark Age for short. Chapter 3 - Impact DiamondFire was the perfect server for RPs to have started in. It brought the right players together, and had the right community at the time to make the genre flourish, and had the plot system available to make such a genre possible. All these three factors together led to its rise, but as the community's stance shifted and players grew tired of them, RPs would die out in DF as slowly as it began. Yet, with Warlords, it has left a legacy that may be permanent, and possibly will live on well beyond DF itself. It has left us with a community we look forward to seeing, and as DF changes, we do not have to conform to it. And, while some of us may dislike the server, the fact of the matter is - We wouldn't be here without it.
