Chapter 1

The Origin

The origins of Galactica are directly sourced to Galactic Empires, a Pre-Warlords game by UK. The game was one of the first multiplayer games by UK, where a group of players
traveled through a section of galaxy, building an empire across multiple planets, competing with others. The game featured some interesting mechanics, but other than that, it didn't bring much new to the table, besides the multiplayer aspect.
The game, however, would set the space theme for the future game, which would set itself in Warlords history as one of the best games on the server.
Chapter 2

The Beginnings of Galactica

As Warlords was created, the idea of Galactic Empires came back to UK, prompting him to recreate it. On Warlords 1, some of the original ship ideas were created, based on an old DF game.
When Warlords was recreated as Warlords 2, the ship designs were lost, replaced with new designs. The mechanics were changed, making a more solar system based exploration system, where buildings were placed on individual planets within a solar system.
Basically, the entire mechanics system was changed, and everything about it was changed, and it featured the old Kingdoms research system, where players just said what they wanted to research, and there we go. This led to a tiny bit of exploitation by a single individual,
and this individual is known as UltraCraftGames. (Remember him, he's important later.)

A test run of the game was set in motion, eventually expanding into Galactica S1. This season never really had a set plot, there was just various AI Empires to interact
with, and a world to explore. The season was overall a success, with a very abrupt ending as Ultra (Yeah, he exists) blew up the entire Quadrant.
Chapter 3

Season 2

With the popularity of Season 1, another season was in order. This one, however, became a bit more of a community project, as other players helped build some of the most time consuming sections
and contributed their ideas to the game. An elaborate set of research trees was created, specific to the 7 races of S2, and a main research tree, where all empires could unlock new technology. It took a few weeks, but Galactica S2 was made, with a slight problem inbetween. Anyone
playing on warlords will remember this controversy clearly.
Chapter 4

The Halcyon Controversy

During the creation of Season 2, Ultra had the idea to make a potential story for S2. He took some elements from the singleplayer game Halcyon 6, and submitted his idea to UK. This started
a very long debate over whether his story would be used. The discussion boiled down to Ultra having an advantage by knowing what would happen (remember that, it'll be important later) and whether he should have done it in the first place. The argument ended with the story being used,
and Ultra basically becoming a co-host of S2, as UK and Ultra privately discussed what the enemies would look like, how everything would function, etc. With that, Season 2 moved forward. To explain the basics of the story (Halcyon 6 Spoilers):
A Sector of Galaxy Andros is invaded by unknown alien life forms, known as the Chruul. These highly aggressive life forms threaten the Galaxy, and they are controlled by a large ship covered in the Chruul, known as the mothership. The players would have to explore the sector
and find ancient ruins from an alien race known as the Precursors, and use their technology to discover their ancient spaceship, known as the Halcyon. When the players did so, They would have to fight the Chimera, a very powerful Chruul ship, in which after would be an intermission.
After that, they would have to fight a series of powerful Chruul ships, known as the Marauder, Smasher, and I don't know the rest. Along the way, they would discover the Behemoths, giant creatures attracted to Precursor tech. Killing enough of these allows them to challenge a
Megabehemoth, which contains upgrades for their precursor tech. After that, all behemoths would change to the next tier. After finally defeating the 4 Chruul ships, the mothership would have to be weakened before the Halcyon uses its giant laser to destroy the mothership, and itself
with it, thus ending the threat of the Chruul.

What did happen, you may ask? TCK found the hints and discovered the Halcyon on the map, from which Ultra flew straight to with his precursor ship. After a lot of wars and other stuff, TCK and an AI Ally attacked
Ultra, who fired the Halcyon's beam, thus removing any possibility of the Mothership's defeat. Thus, the mothership entered the Sector, and destroyed everything, with no possible way to stop it. The End.
Chapter 5

Season 3

After that disappointing ending, another Season was created, with very different systems. The season didn't last long, but here is a brief overview of the changes.
-A brand new ship system, controlled by officers who could level themselves and their ships.

-Replacing Chruul with normal slimes.

-A more specialized unit system.

-A bigger map, stretching over
90,000 blocks.

-A different story.

The Season started, some turns happened, and it was canceled. That's about all it did.
Chapter 6

The Future

Galactica has surely had an interesting past, starting out as an interesting space exploration game, and continuing on until its eventual stalling, and to this day (October 10, 2019) a Season 4 may never happen.
So what is there for the future of Galactica? Maybe a different game, or maybe a Season 4? At this point, there are many possibilities for where this could go. Otherwise, Galactica has continued its reputation as one of the first warlords games ever played, and maintaining
its legacy as a good game overall. Whatever the future lays for Galactica... it's definitely going to be in space.

And that's how we're gonna end that.
