This book is simply to clarify terms being used in other history books or explanations for RP games. So, any book or graph made before December 2nd, 2019 has used the terms "genre" and "sub-genre" interchangeably to describe a category of RPs. No real definition was given as to what either was. Starting from today onwards, they'll be defined as: Genre - The different ways to play an RP game. These are the fundamental basis for RP games. Only three exist as of the writing of this book, and these are: Developmental/Kingdom Games (Pioneered by RP Wars, popularized by Kingdoms) - A game where a physical map is made, and players start from scratch to build a city or civilization. Afterlife/Human-Scale Games: Any game where you play as yourself or an individual within a world, and do not primarily have to focus on your country. Loria/Country Games: Any game primarily based around nations and not developing them. While a Developmental game may see you start from scratch, Loria games usually have pre-built nations with a pre-made history. These are the most political/nation based of the three. Now, for a Sub-Genre - Sub-Genre: A specific form of playing games that falls within any of the main genres, even if significantly different from other games of that genre. For example: Proto-Afterlife/Minigames: The precursor to the main Afterlife genre, these are simple, quick versions of the story-based Afterlife genre, and usually have little to no storyline. For example, it could be a short game about a bank robbery. That's all. Hopefully this will clear up some confusion. Another important thing is that creators of sub-genres will not be considered Original anymore. Only the creators of Genres will be able to receive such a status.
