DefDeef was the plot owner, and had essentially 'rented' (or gave the plot to somebody else to use it) to J3tli, a coder on the server. J3tli, alongside tujjpe (who provided minimal support, Blox's account) had made a unique game. The game essentially put several colors that would constantly try to claim the other color's space, and try to be the only color on the map. The original match was one against red and blue, before the system was perfected. As more matches and updates to the system were developed, those with imaginations pictured the whole thing as a sort of "war" between "countries", when it really wasn't anything more than people watching colors swap places until one got it all. This didn't really stop anybody from imagining, and since the very first game, thecoolkid26 would be a commentator. Fablor9900, another RP player and extremely inactive player of Warlords, would also comment on it. Other players would as well, but they provided minimal support and they've been lost to history. Despite this, Pixels was one of the most well documented games in the entire family tree. Bloxhead7 had personal interactions with the creators, and has been a reliable source on the issue. TheZipCreator, another future player of Warlords, would be the photographer of the whole game - His photography helped document a match. He even would go on to make his sequel to Pixels, which never took off. Chapter 2 - Death The game's active period lasted for barely over 4 months. It is considered to have died on December 27th, 2018, when tujjpe (one of the developers) had started another round of Pixels, only to receive no players. He'd state that the game was dead on Discord sometime around December 9th, 2018. Blox agreed, stating that none of "the high authorities" (J3tli and DefDeef) want to continue it. The last attempt to make a game, again by tujjpe, was on January 10th, 2018. All operations ceased afterwards. The rest of the Discord's history were simply veterans of the game paying tribute to it. Chapter 3 - Controversy By this point, you've most likely questioned why we're covering a coded game, when the entire premise of RPs is to not be coded. Pixels is not considered an RP at all, however, it is notable in the sense that it is the first 0 player game. Zero player games, a concept that is now one of the minor sub-genres of RPs, AFOWs, would be started later on by CookieQ (See the history of CookieQ's AFOWs and DF RPs after Warlords for more information) as an attempt to popularize the concept. An AFOW functions similarly to Pixels, except that instead of it being coded, the host manually controls both the dialogue/commentary for the countries, and changes the countries borders as well. It's like story telling, but with visuals? That's the best way I can put it. So, the whole controversy lies on whether Pixels can be considered the ancestor of the start of AFOWs. It's not a big problem, but regardless one that can cause division. It's ultimately up to you to decide for yourselves on where Pixels truly stands. I'll end this with a quote from tujjpe, on September 1st, 2019: "F"
