Chapter 1 -

Background

Back in DiamondFire, long after Warlords' creation, the Warlords Exodus has taken its toll. RP games were sharply declining after the last major boom, the Civilizations Boom, and
the Dark Age of RPs was fast approaching. Few creators were still on DF making RPs by the time that Belloria died, most notably Kingdoms S2 by SenorConejo. (Read the History of DF RPs after Warlords for more info)
Around this time, CookieQ had made the first AFOW - standing for Alternate Future of the World, a type of video on Youtube where you watch countries talk to each other, make alliances, and fight. In this case, an AFOW RP would be one where nobody played, but watched as the host made
a story using the countries as visuals. Sort of like advanced storytelling.

However, CookieQ's RPs were always characterized with a lack of preparation. It was typical to join her games after she advertises them to see that she wasn't even done making
the game. It wasn't a problem back then with other genres of RPs, but when it came to AFOWs, she'd lose her audience before even starting, or barely being able to start.

As a result, AFOWs never became a big deal.
However, thecoolkid26, now a Warlords player, had taken notice when he had visited DF. Although others were aware, it'd be him to make the first AFOW on Warlords.
Chapter 2 -

The Game

thecoolkid26/TCK was never really a fan of AFOW RPs to begin with. He made the game with the intention of it being a joke.
He'd use the political world of Conquest, a game by FrenchFryFan, as a basis for his AFOW. The game was nothing more than a series of jokes, with minor countries conquering other ones, winning sides surrendering, and an incoherent storyline.
It ended with the entire world being nuked, and few countries surviving in its aftermath.

Now, the game remains a monument of the first AFOW on Warlords, at /warp AFOW .
Chapter 3 -

Legacy

While the game was a joke, people did take genuine interest in the idea after seeing it in action. Three Warlords players in particular - UK_Countryball, Bloxhead7, and FrenchFryFan
himself all liked the concept.

What followed was a series of AFOWs, all lighthearted but more serious than TCK's, in a small and shortlived 'boom' of games now known as the Conquest AFOWs, as all of them were based off of the same game, Conquest.
thecoolkid26 himself, despite not really liking AFOWs, probably put the most thought into them. He believed that such games could be made in DF, and potentially cause a rebirth of RPs on the server that they once flourished in. He believed that the community in its current state
would mostly accept the new AFOW. CookieQ herself was the only person to have attempted AFOWs in DF, and it was ultimately her underpreparation that made it fail. What if a good creator from Warlords came and started it themselves?
The idea received little popularity. Bloxhead7 made his own refutal in the form of a graph, that showed that AFOWs would lead to a decrease in the game quality across all of DF, an idea that TCK opposed. Others simply just weren't into the idea.
As a result, the philosophy remains dead as of now (10/27/19) and AFOWs themselves have died, leaving this game's legacy to be insignificant, and nothing more than a footnote in the history books.
